We are offering a chicken evisceration class to help the homesteader learn this valuable skill. The hands-on class will be offered in 3 hour blocks of time. You will be learning about chicken anatomy, how to humanely slaughter, scalding, plucking, and how to deal with the offal. Each class participant will be expected to help finish all chickens that were scheduled to be processed during that session.
Sign up for the number of chickens you wish to process. You may need extra hands from a spouse, older child, or friends to complete the harvest. Chickens can be cut up to use as fryers, or left whole for a roaster. Bring a cooler with ice to transport your finished birds. Vacuum freezer bags are included in the fees for each chicken processed.
